The governing body of the General Board of Koptivshtitsa met the new
mayor of Koprivshtitsa
On 28 November2007 in Koprivshtitsa
a meeting took place with the newly-elected mayor of Koprivshtitsa -
Lyubomir Tsekov. On behalf of the Koprivshtitsa Municipality the meeting
was also attended by the deputy-mayor Radka Skenderova and on behalf of
the Governing Body of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa - Ognyan
Palaveev - Chairman. Hristo Mavrudiev, dr. Stoycho Kosev and Milen
Dobrinov -members.
At the meeting Ognyan Palaveev - Chairman of the Governing Body of the
General Board of Koprivshtitsa submitted to the mayor the directions, in
which the board has worked and in which we well continue to develop,
namely:
Continuation and development of our relations with the Italian town of
Masafra, which is fraternized to Koprivshtitsa;
Opening of a class for studying Italian language at the Secondary
Education High School "Lyuben Karavelov", which is affiliate to the
National Academic Complex of Culture - Gorna Banya; Continuation of work
on the project for buildings reconstruction and restoration of the
frescoes of the "St. Nikolay" church in Koprivshtitsa; Common aspects
for mutual work on behalf of both parties were also found in the social
field, in which the campaigns for conduction of specialized examinations
for people from Koprivshtitsa with chronic diseases and for distribution
of Bulgarian medicines to needy families were decided to continue.
We were satisfied by the fact that we obtained the consent for support
and mutual work on behalf of the Governing Body of the Koprivshtitsa
Municipality with regards to the realization of the above-mentioned
tasks.
With best whishes for successful mandate on behalf of the Governing Body
of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa, Ognyan Palaveev handed to the
mayor Lyubomir Tsekov a painting with a landscape of Koprivshtitsa.

Rayna Kableshkova presented her new book in Sofia
On the initiative of the GBK, on 19th
November 2007, in the Sofia library the book "Koprivshtitsa" of Rayna
Kableshkova was officially presented, which went out of press during the
summer of 2007. The book traces back the lifestyle and manners of the
Koprivshtitsa people from the end of XIX century to the present days.
Many relatives of the Kableshkovi family from Sofia were present on the
presentation of the book, as well as members of the Governing Body of
the General Board of Koprivshtitsa and guests from Koprivshtitsa.

190th anniversary of the "Sveto Uspenie Bogorodichno" temple in
Koprivshtitsa
On 8th July 2007 the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa made a money donation on occasion of the ceremonial
celebration of 190th anniversary of the opening of the "Sveto Uspenie
Bogorodichno" temple. Father Bogomil Chatalov - a priest at the temple
and father Rumen Stoimenov - a priest at the "St. Nikolay" temple in
Koprivshtitsa served a holy mass. The temple was filed by many laymen,
which came to honour the anniversary.

Koprivshtitsa in the European family of fraternized towns
Within the
period from 14th to 18th February 2007 a delegation with representatives
of the Koprivshtitsa Municipality and the General Board of Koprivshtitsa
visited the town of Masafra, region of Taranto, Italy. The purpose of
the visit was the establishment of initial contacts with the municipal
administration and signing of an Agreement for fraternization and
collaboration between the two municipalities. The formation of the
delegation included Nikola Kamenarov - mayor of Koprivshtitsa
Municipality, general Dincho Karamunchev, Hristo Mavrudiev and Rashko
Dorosiev - members of the Governing Body of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa. The visit was by invitation of the mayor of the Masafra
Municipality and became possible thanks to the kind cooperation of
Antionio Sportelli.

The campaign for social aid in Koprivshtitsa continues
On 12th January 2007, in the town of
Koprivshtitsa, on the initiative of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa,
with the assistance of the Association of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical
Manufacturers /ABPM/ and the Koprivshtitsa Municipality, free of charge
examinations were conducted for the people with chronic diabetes. The
examinations were conducted by the head of the Clinic of Endocrinology
of the Aleksandrovska Hospital - Ass. Prof. Vladimir Hristov. 24
patients were examined and the results were reported to their General
Practitioners.
After the end of the examinations Ass. Prof. Hristov delivered a lecture
on theme "'Novelties in Diagnostics of People with Endocrine Diseases"
and at the end answered questions of the General Practitioners.
Medicines of Bulgarian manufacturers were granted free of charge to
diseased people from needy families.

A
guest from Italy in Koprivshtitsa
On the initiative of the General
Board of Koprivshtitsa, on 23.11.2006 Antonio Sportelli visited
Koprivshtitsa. He is a lecturer at the College of Musafra, Italy. He
came to Bulgaria by invitation of Mrs. Velyanova - Headmaster of the
National Academic Complex of Culture /NACC/ and the High School of
Studying Italian Language on occasion of the 301 anniversary of the
school.
In Koprivshtitsa Antonio Sportelli was accompanied by general Dincho
Karamunchev - member of the Governing Body of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa.
Antonio Sportelli was officially welcomed by Nikola Kamenarov - mayor
and by Vasil Enchev - deputy-mayor. During the conversations an opinion
for mutual
collaboration in the field of education and tourism was expressed, On
that grounds many programmes can be elaborated.
Antonio Sportelli made a presentation of the town of Masafra, Italy,
which proved to be a town similar to Koprivshtitsa with regards to
spirit and traditions. The guest made an invitation for an official
visit in Masafra.

The General Board of Koprivshtitsa turned 1 year
On 18.10.2006, in the hall of the community centre "Hadzhi Nencho
Palaveev" - ton of Koprivshtitsa, the first annual meeting of the
Association - General Board of Koprivshtitsa /GBK/ took place.
The Chairman of the Governing Body of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa
Ognyan Palaveev presented the activities of the association for the
period from the month of June 2005 till the month of October 2006. He
emphasized that the work of the board would not be possible without the
good synchronization between the existing boards in the town of
Koprivshtitsa, as well as without the assistance of the municipality
with regards to support of the development of tourism, preservation of
the environment, the cultural and historical heritage, the development
of the museum activities and the activation of the cultural activities
in the town.
A few changes were made to the formation of the Governing Body of the
General Board of Koprivshtitsa. Due to other engagement professor dr.
Nikolay Tsankov and Dimitar Prionkov were dismissed. New members of the
Governing Body became Hristo Mavrodiev - former Chairman of the
Supervision Committee and dr. Stoycho Kosev - General Practitioner in
Koprivshtitsa and a new member of the Supervision Committee was elected
- Milen Dobrinov.
Petar Galinov - member of the Supervision Committee prepared a financial
report for the past period and presented the draft budget for the year
of 2007.
After the official part there was a celebration programme, prepared by
the dance formation "Koprivshtenski Bogorodichki" of the local Community
Centre.

The General Board of Koprivshtitsa donated medicines to diseased
citizens of Koprivshtitsa
On 25th August 2006 on the initiative
of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa /GBK/ and the Association of the
Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers /ABPM/, with the collaboration of
the Koprivshtitsa Municipality, the second phase of the campaign for
health and social aid of population of Koprivshtitsa was conducted.
With the help of the General Practitioners - dr. Oselkova, dr. Mladenova
and dr. Kosev, Ass. Prof. Stefan Milanov - head of the Clinic for
Emergency Internal Diseases of the Multi-Profile Hospital for Active
Treatment "Pirogov" conducted specialized medical examinations.
The Association of the Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers /ABPM/
provided free medicines for the treatment of needy diseased people.

Participation of the Board in the August Days of he town of
Koprivshtitsa /11-15.08.2008/
The folklore days "Koprivshtitsa
2006" were opened on 11th August in the 20th April Square. On the next
day the performances continued with the stage music in yard of the old
school "St. St. Kiril & Metodiy", where many folklore formations from
all over the country performed. About 500 performers participated in the
concert programme - dancers, individual performers and instrument
players.
The Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi
Pirinski awarded the winners of the festival and on behalf of the
General Board of Koprivshtitsa general Dincho Karamunchev presented
souvenirs to the winners of the prize "Person of Folklore Days
Koprivshtitsa - 2006" - the 16-year-old rebeck player Borislav Galabov
from the town of Pazardzhik and the 8-year-old Velichka Markova from the
village of Rozino, region of Plovdiv.
Each participating folklore formation received as a souvenir a ritual
tree from Koprivshtitsa.
The Chairman of the Parliament of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi
Pirinski was an honorary patron of the celebrations on occasion of the
35 anniversary of the winning of the first world team title in classical
style wrestling.
The memorable event was celebrated wit ha sequence of activities on 12
and 13th August 2006 in the town of Koprivshtitsa.
On 14.08.2006 on the mutual initiative of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa, the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa and the Community
Centre "Hadzhi Nencho Palaveev" - Koprivshtitsa a meeting of mayors and
municipal counsellors from the region of Sredna Gora was organized under
the heading "'Let us Preserve Sredna Gora".
The meeting took place in the hall of the Community Centre. Guests from
Pirdop, Mirkovo, Chavdar, Anton, Hisar and Lesichevo were present. The
following persons participated in the activities of the meeting: the
deputy regional manager of the town of Pazardzhik - Penka Peneva, the
executive manager of the Association of Chairmans of Municipal Councils
of the country - eng. D. Damyanovski, the governing body of the
Koprivshtitsa Municipality, members of the Governing Body of the General
Board of Koprivshtitsa, citizens of the Bulgarian national revival town.
In his inaugural words towards all the guests, the mayor of
Koprivshtitsa -Nikola Kamenarov said that preservation of nature,
together with tourism development should be primary goal for the people
of Sredna Gora.
The Chairman of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa - Ognyan Palaveev
emphasized that the objective of the first meeting was the preservation
of Sredna Gora - the place, where we were destined to live together.
Beside that the forum had to specify the strategy, which the people of
Sredna Gora should follow in order to achieve the idea, which was
initiated by the non-governmental organizations General Board of
Koprivshtitsa and the Community Centre Board of the town of
Koprivshtitsa.
Engineer Todorov delivered a lecture on the problem of preservation of
the environment of Sredna Gora. He introduced to the audience the way
people influence nature and nature's need for protection, as well as the
methods for preservation of the biological variety and the mechanism for
protection of the environment. In conclusion oh his lecture engineer
Todorov said:
"Preservation of nature is not a luxury or a fancy, but a question of
survival of future generations".

Participation of the Board in the seventh family meeting of the
Kableshkovi Family
On 18.06.2006 in the town of
Koprivshtitsa relatives and descendents of Kableshkov gathered for
seventh time in a row. The event was solemnly celebrated with the
presence of more than 150 relatives and guests, which came from all over
Bulgaria.
An updated family tree was donated as a precious gift for the
revolutionary's museum in the town of Koprivshtitsa, which family tree
was elaborated by Rayna Kableshkova - Chairman of "Todor Kableshkov"
foundation and member of the Governing Body of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa, after long years of collection and research work.
On behalf of the Governing Body of the Board a greeting address was
performed by General Dincho Karamunchev. Within the activities of the
celebration poems for Todor Kableshkov were recited by the poet
Haralampi Haralampiev from his book of poetry "Sky for Bells".

Presentation of
the book of poetry "Sky for Bells" by Haralampi Haralampiev
On 07.06.2006, in the hall of the
Association of Bulgarian Composers, the book of poetry "Sky for Bells"
was presented by the author Haralampi Haralampiev on the initiative of
the General Board of Koprivshtitsa. That is a wonderful poetic album
with touches of Koprivshtitsa, which is devoted the 130th anniversary of
the April Rising. In a full synchronization with the exciting poems,
artistic photos, made by Georgi Dimitrov were shown. The two creative
artists donated their copyrights to the General Board of Koprivshtitsa.
The poetic inspiration of the author is actually admiration and pride of
the grand heroism the participants of the April Rising. Vivid visions
from above Eledzhik and Bunaya Summit, above the Kalachev Bridge and
Bogdan Summit are queued one after another in a ballad style. Excellent
lessons in history and patriotism. It's a real endless sky that
ceaselessly echoes far and wide the ringing of bells of rebellion
Koprivshtitsa.
Members of the Governing Body of the General Board of Koprivshtitsa and
representatives of the Bulgarian Writer's Union attended the
presentation.
A cocktail-party was arranged for the guests of the celebration.

Fellow countryman meeting, organized by the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa on occasion of the 130th anniversary of the April Rising
On 26.04.2006, in the Central
Military Club in the city of Sofia, a solemn concert took place, which
was organized by the General Board of Koprivshtitsa /GBK/. All people
born or related to the "Town of the First Canon", residents of Sofia and
Plovdiv arranged a meeting, with which initiated the celebrations on
occasion of the 130 anniversary of the April Rising.
More than 200 members of the Board and many guests attended the concert.
Unforgettable songs about the Bulgarian National Revival were performed
in the programme by the "Armeyska Pesen" Quartette, after which Ognyan
Palaveev -Chairman of the Governing Body of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa spoke about the heroism of the people of Koprivshtitsa. He
said that he was happy from the fact that the celebrations became a
reason for all people of Koprivshtitsa to gather at the meeting, to
renew their contact to each other and to work together for the
prosperity and exaltation of their native town Koprivshtitsa.
The idea was these gatherings to become traditional.
The unique album of poetry for Koprivshtitsa "Sky for Bells" by
Haralampi Haralampiev was presented at the meeting. The album was
published with the financial support of the General Board of
Koprivshtitsa. Poems from the poetic album were read by Professor Petar
Petrov and the author himself came on the stage to recite the poem "A
History Lesson", reminiscing his first years as a teacher.
The programme continued with performances of the fairy girls from the
formation, guided by Lili Ignatova, of the formation for folklore songs
and dances.

Social program of the "Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees"
The Association of Bulgarian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and the
“Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees” with the cooperation of prof.
Nikolay Tsankov - Dean of the Medical faculty at the Medical
University - Sofia in March the 10th and 11th 2006, arranged
consumers checck up for chronic sick in Koprivshtitsa.
The examinations were performed by a team of notable specialists in
the field of internal/gastroenterologists, rheumatologists,
cardiologists and endocrinologists/ and skin diseases. There will
also be made echographic and electrocardiographic examinations.
After the check ups together with the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa
the extremely needy and the poor families will be included in a
long-term program for relief with bulgarian medicines.

The "Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees"
will maintain the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa with ideas through
the next year.
Just a few days before the Christmas and new year's celebrations, on
15.12.2005 ã. in Sofia was carried out extended meeting of the
Association “Koprivshtitsa board of trustees”. At the conference
some of the participants who took part were the member of the board
of managers and the control commission, guests from Koprivshtitsa –
the Mayor N. Kamenarov, the financier of the Municipality Ts. Geova,
the chief architect G. Georgiev, the director of the local radio M.
Pancheva and the writer H. Haralampiev.
The Chairman of the Association Mr. Ognian Palaveev reminded in his
opening words, that the goal of the organisation is to work in
collaboration and dialog with the Municipality. Those present
discussed the upcoming celebration of 130 years since the outbreak
of the April Revolt and all agreed, that a good organisation would
approve the board of managers as a operative structure. All the
participants agreed with the idea of creating a Enterprising
committee for celebrating the revolt, in which can join members of
the Association, the Municipality of Koprivshtitsa, some men of note
from the social and cultural life of the country. The members of the
Board of Directors accepted the offer the celebrations, devoted to
the April Revolt, should be under the patronage of the President
Georgi Parvanov. An opinion was supported, that the preparation and
the realization of the forthcoming manifestations should begin early
to emphasize their local importance.
After the business part the Chairman gave a cocktail party. In an
informal background he introduced his first teacher and a poet H.
Haralampiev, who recited some of his poems. The Partisans of the
Koprivshtitsa revival according to an old Koprivshtitsa custom
wished themselves happy holidays with the hope, that the new 2006
year will be more beneficial and successful than the past year.

Visitation of the members from the board of
managers from the Association in the Municipality of Triavna.
On 23.11.2005 ã. at a visitation in Triavna there was a group from
the "Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees" Association and the
Koprivshtitsa Municipality administration. From the board the
Chairman Ognian Palaveev, I. Lambrev, R. Dorosiew and A. Abadzhieva
were present. Municipality of Koprivshtitsa was presented by the
Mayor Nikola Kamenarov, the representative of the Municipal council
Gencho Gerdanov and the secretary Nikolay Karagiozov.
The purpose of the meeting, initiated by the Chairman of the
association Ognian Palaveev, was the experience exchange by the
program “Support for the fraternization between cities activities”.
The Mayor of Triavna Municipality Stefan Danailov shared his
experience for their partnership with the Swiss city of Brience
which dates since 1994. Through the years this partnership gradually
spread in the field of tourism, education, culture, local traditions
and customs. Within the framework of this collaboration there were
established many joint projects and initiatives.
Mr. Ognian Palaveev said that Koprivshtitsa is seeking for
partnership with a city from the region of Trento, Italy. This would
lead to the expand of the contacts of the local society in the field
of tourism, culture and eventually will contribute for the advance
of projects from the pre-accession funds of the European commission
and the program “Beautiful Bulgaria”.
At the end of the work conference the two mayors exchanged honorable
decorations of the two municipalities.

Meeting of the
Association “Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees” with the public of
Koprivshtitsa.
On 15.10.2005 in the town of Koprivshtitsa in the
library “Hadji Nencho Palaveev”, Association “Koprivshtitsa Board of
Trustees” carried out a meeting with the inhabitants of the
Bulgarian national revival town. The Association was established at
14.04.2005 in the city of Sofia and it is registered as a
non-governmental organization with non-economical aim.
Rashko Dorosiev – member of the Control commission, part of the
board of managers, opened the forum. The guests of the meeting were
received with the brilliant song of Emil Dimitrov “My country, my
Bulgaria” performed by Maria Genova– a pupil in the local high
school.
The business part passed under the chairmanship of brigadier-general
Dincho Karamunchev, member of the board of managers. He familiarized
the present with the long and short-term missions, which the board
of managers is aiming for. The main goal of the meeting was to
introduce the Koprivshtitsa public with the Association, its goals
and people, that will work on their execution. The elected Board of
managers and its Chairman Ognian Palaveev declared, that they will
devote their joint efforts to the economic, spiritual and social
progress of the town. All the members of the Board of managers from
the Association told the inhabitants of Koprivshtitsa how they see
their place and role in the board of managers.
The presentation ended with the magnificent performance of the dance
group “Bogorodichki” from Koprivshtitsa and the Group for authentic
folklore from the rodopian town of Stoikite. They presented stylish
and exciting concert to the audience, filled up the library hall.
The board of managers of the Association gave a cocktail for those
present, where people from Koprivshtitsa had the opportunity to
share their ideas with the members of the board of managers and in
an informal conversation to map their future steps together.

Establishing of the
Association “The Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees”
On 14.04.2005 in Sofia was lead the constituent assembly of the
Association “The Koprivshtitsa Board of Trustees”. At the invitation
there were many Koprivshtitsa inhabitants, living in Sofia,
connected to the town came to participate. Present were the Mayor of
Municipality of Koprivshtitsa Nikola Kamenarov, the secretary
Nikolay Karagiozov and many more.
„Today we are gathered here to lay the beginnings of the
Association” – with these words prof. Iskro Kosev opened the
meeting. He announced, that the goal of the newly formed structure
to gather not only the people of Koprivshtitsa, from the Plovdiv and
Sofia board of managers, but everybody who love the city and would
like to put in work their efforts and ideas and to work for his
modern revival. Prof. Kosev sent best regards from the director of
the Sofia region Olimpi Katev and from prof. Zhivko Stalev. Dimitar
Pironkov submitted a salute speech to those present from the
Minister of culture and tourism Miss Nina Chilova.
According to the previously accepted program it was taken the
decision for establishing the Association and to approve its name.
The bylaws of the organization were Discussed and accepted. In the
board of managers there were chosen nine people, for the Chairman
was elected Mr. Ognian Palaveev, Executive Director of Unipharm JSC
and Chairman of the Association of the Bulgarian Pharmacies
Producers. It was also elected a Control commission with three
members. The entrance fee for the members of the board of managers
was appointed at 5 leva, the annual membership tax is 10 leva.
